Software Portfolio Assurance · Flagship service

Every repository measured weekly. Leadership decides on evidence.

Weekly, benchmarked measurement of every repository in your portfolio, in-house and vendor-delivered alike, delivered as a service on the Software Insights Platform with nothing for your teams to install, run or maintain. Also available for a single application as Application Monitoring; the portfolio is where it pays off.

What you get

One current picture, and the record of how it moves

Four things most portfolios lack today, produced every week and read against agreed targets.

[ 01 / KNOW ]

The whole portfolio on one scale

Every application and repository scored 1 to 5 on the same benchmarked scale, with its size in person-years, so in-house and vendor-delivered code compare like for like.

[ 02 / TRIAGE ]

Weekly triage and movers

Each repository marked critical, watch or healthy; the largest decliners and improvers named with their movement; severe security findings straight to the top of the list.

[ 03 / RISK ]

Risk exposure alongside quality

Dependency vulnerabilities, secrets in git history, open-source licence obligations and an SBOM per repository, so risk is read next to maintainability rather than in a separate silo.

[ 04 / PROVE ]

Briefings, reviews and the annual report

Executive briefings and a portfolio review against agreed targets, and an annual assurance report against the accepted baseline: what was measured, what was agreed, what changed.

How it runs

Insight in weeks, then a rhythm that holds

Measurement is automated, so it is not staged. Governance follows in short iterations, team by team.

01 ACCESS

Read-only access, in the model that fits your security

Claroview reads the repositories directly, or receives analysis reports where source cannot leave your environment. Vendor-delivered code is held to the same targets under the same model.

02 BASELINE

A first measured view within about two weeks

Every reachable repository is measured and the portfolio takes shape: applications, repositories, owners. An early view rather than a settled one; confirming what belongs to which application follows deliberately.

03 MEASURE

Weekly, never more than a week behind the code

Analysis runs automatically every week. Triage, movers and the quality-against-growth map are refreshed; Claroview watches the portfolio on your behalf and raises what needs attention.

04 REVIEW

A review rhythm agreed with you

Typically a monthly alignment with the teams, executive briefings every other month, a quarterly portfolio review and an annual report against the baseline, adapted to your governance calendar.

Who it is for

Leaders who intend to act on what the evidence shows

CIO / CTO
One picture of the whole estate, and proof, review after review, that it is moving the right way.
Heads of engineering
The same evidence the leadership sees, per team and per repository, with agreed targets and a prioritised worklist rather than a data dump.
Vendor management
Technical-quality expectations set up front and verified during and after delivery, on the same scale as in-house code.
Your effort
About two hours a month per application owner for the governance itself. Acting on what it surfaces is a separate, deliberate investment that the evidence helps you size and prioritise.
Next step

Start with a baseline

A baseline of your first applications within about two weeks of read-only access. Tell us about your portfolio and the decisions in front of you, and we will outline whether Software Portfolio Assurance fits your situation. Pricing is tailored to the size and depth of the environments we measure.

Questions

What people ask before they start

Do our engineers need to install or run anything?

No. Claroview operates the platform and runs the analysis. Your teams grant read-only access once and receive evidence, not homework.

What about vendor code we are not allowed to share?

The analysis can run inside your environment, with only the measurement results reaching the platform. The source never leaves. Vendor-delivered code is then measured on the same scale as everything else.

Is weekly measurement not just noise?

A single measurement is a snapshot. Fifty-two of them a year are a direction of travel, and direction is what turns a quality score into a decision. The weekly rhythm is what lets decline show up while the fix is still cheap.

Can we get alerts when a repository crosses a threshold?

Software Portfolio Assurance includes periodic management and developer reporting, and proactive alerts if the situation demands it. The reporting cadence and the level of our involvement are adjusted to your specific needs.

What does “assurance” mean here?

Evidence you can rely on: independent, benchmarked measurement of where the portfolio stands and how it moves, reviewed against targets you agreed. Claroview measures and reports; your leadership decides and your teams improve.
